That's an important qualifier. I'm curious how many celebrity crushes are really "character" crushes? I guess in those instances where it's a musical celeb or something then it's the person, but I know I was head over heels for Angelina Jolie in Hackers - she was everything I could've wanted in the mid-nineties.

Whenever "The Rock" is on screen, for a TV show or movie, my wife is instantly enthralled. There was a movie where he was angry, sweat on his forehead, and he was in the face of someone yelling at them and she was leaning forward biting her lower lip and making "mmm mmm mmm" sounds.

Ha! I call this "Fox Mulder Syndrome" because I looooooooooooove foxy wonderful sexy lovely perfect Fox but am not at all interested in David Duchovny, nor any other characters he plays.

I kinda grew into her. I was a teen during the X-Files and her bulky shoulder-pad-laden getup was immensely physically unattractive to me at a time when I was very physique-focused. As I've gotten older though, re-watching the X-Files I've gained a new appreciation for her. Faces and hair are for some reason much

I'm a straight woman, and I'm pretty sure that I have a crush on Gillian Anderson. She's just so damn good in anything she's in. I coped with said crush by naming my dog "Scully." Not only is it a great name, but it doesn't feel weird at all to be out in the woods yelling it when she runs off!

Since much of this has turned into an ungggghhhh... list, can anyone get with me regarding Tom Mison?

Most of the men and ladies I crush on are a bizarre mix of want and want to be.

My guy and I are mid-20s now, so he has often said that when he first found Lindsay Lohan attractive (circa Freaky Friday and Mean Girls) he was an appropriate age for that, and now he still thinks THAT era LiLo is hot, but feels weird about it. His taste is a combo of big-eyed, cherubic sweethearts (early LiLo, Katy

That is the best story. I would love it if my husband did the same thing so I'd have a great excuse to have thousands of magazine cutouts of Pierce Brosnan around my office just like my middle school lockers.

I could be making this up but isn't the Rock really funny and self-aware (in addition to having the big strong handsome man thing going on)? I totally approve of this crush. :)

I had to comment on this. My husband is a military man and a cop. He's got that military look. I'm law enforcement too, so he gets my crazy schedule and my independent nature. He's a smart ass/ tough guy type.

Got a thing for Agent Scully but could care less about Gillian Anderson( though she's a hell of an actress). I get it. It's healthy.

dude. Elliot Stabler and Jon Stewart are my ultimate loves!! My real life boyfriend is a New Yorker, and when he told me about a year ago that he is considering becoming a policeman I literally shrieked with joy.

I miss Daria. :,(

It kind of already is!

I kind of wish this were a series: Lindy West Ruins Movies!

I think there needs to be more open and honest communication about puberty and exactly what it does to our bodies. Hitting puberty is way more than getting boobs or pubes or your period, and hormones have an huge effect on women.

.... ?

In a few hours I'm going to hit the gym and then teach a self-defense class (mixed sex). I'll pair women with men, women with women, and men with men. Size, age, etc, it really doesn't matter. You don't get to pick your attacker. Life don't work like that.

And, at the end of the day, I'll be a happy fucking instructor
