Yes! Just had menemen for the first time recently and it is delicious and would make a lovely breakfast. And anything that is served with lots of little sides is a plus for me.

Yup, definitely: fried calamari. Are they tender or are they rubber bands? Are they light or are they greasy? Does the restaurant fry up some hot peppers with them? And my husband always gets the chicken parm our first time at a new place; my son gets a burger.

My Italian mother learned how to make these from a Jewish co-worker back in the 50s (and she makes them with sour cream, not cream cheese!). Growing up, we never knew what these were called, so we just begged her to make the “jelly roll up cookies”. Nowadays she makes giant batches and between my brother, me, spouses…

I’m cool with hunters. That animal lived a free life and you’re eating the meat, that’s great. I’m not cool with eating factory farmed, cruelly raised pigs. Pigs are too damned smart to eat.

My local Wegman’s and Stop & Shop carry a few different flavors, but Big Y has only the lobster base. I don’t think I’ve ever seen it at TJ’s, not sure about Whole Foods.
