Yep. Wish they’d come out of the closet, but I think they don’t want to lose their puritan followers. Give ‘em a few eons. They’ll get there.

For this blasphemy you shall drown in your own feces. You shall be devoured by penguins, and shall be forced to watch The Bachelor for all eternity (including reruns).
“Sarcasm. How original.”
The theory of evolution is as much science as Newtonian physics, the germ theory of disease, quantum physics, etc.
So what? You cannot “prove” or “disprove” plenty of things. I cannot “prove/disprove” the existence Zeus, Quetzalcoatl, Marduk, Bastet, Gandalf, and a whole pantheon of assorted supernatural figures.
So humans create things, therefore there’s a creator? Bit of a flawed logic here, even though the assumption probably led to belief in gods, among other things.
You never call, you never write. Show some love!
You also can’t prove or disprove that a three-headed, ten-humped, six-legged camel farted the universe into existence. But you wouldn’t seriously entertain the notion, would you?
Religious fundamentalism is not necessarily the biggest problem. Even if people shed their religious beliefs, it wouldn’t necessarily mean they’d become more rational. Plenty of people are not religious, yet believe in hokey stuff. I doubt that our irrational impulses, our propensities to believe…
Atheism is a belief system in the same way as not collecting stamps is a hobby. Unless you stretch the definition of belief so much that “I believe I’ll have another drink” becomes a belief (in a religious sense) as well.
What’s that got to do with atheism? This is about people believing in things that fly in the face of evidence. Skin color is irrelevant here.
Weird response. Can’t we have both? And you are aware that most science has nothing to do with studying cognitive decline in the elderly, genetic diseases, and cancer. Does that mean we should stop everything else that’s not immediately beneficial? No more paleontology, cosmology, archaeology...
Sure. But what started it (and still feeds it) was pretty much “volcano gods”, i.e., religion.
False comparison. Since when are herbicides supposed to be consumed? They are not food. That‘s like suggesting bleach is unsafe to use because it‘ll kill you if you drink it.
Same here. I used to think I’m immortal and that age is something that happens to others.
With due respect to your attitude towards age, but with regards to “age is just a number”, biology would like to have a word with you.
Do you really need an ultimate explanation why pandas changed their diet? And what does “choice” mean when it comes to nonhuman animals? Behavioral and dietary changes may stem from a wide variety of reasons: climate change, habitat degradation, loss of prey species, non-detrimental genetic mutations,…
Pandas belong to the order carnivora. They still have the digestive system of a carnivore and carnivore-specific genes. And despite their reputation as bamboo only-eaters, their diet also occasionally consists of insects, other plants, and meat, though it’s only about 1%. And the switch to almost entirely eating…
Curiosity-driven research is what gave you most of the things you now take for granted. Applications are important, of course, but before that you have to understand the basics first. Without that, there wouldn’t be much happening.
