It is called “hearing privilege” we use that term a lot in Gally social work classes.

You’re entitled to your opinion of course. But there’s just no real use in designating their musicianship ‘bad’ when their records are so ridiculously listenable and enjoyable and have clearly withstood the test of time for the vast majority of humanity. If music that appreciated is ‘bad,’ then the basic conception of

A lot of people also confuse being “good” with being technically proficient. Somebody like Steve Vai could play circles around Keith Richards, but Richards is a better guitarist to me because he writes good riffs and plays them in a way that makes me feel stuff. Aimless meedley meedlies may be harder to play, but

Yeah, people still lose their shit over their records 50 years later even though they were bad singers and musicians. Come the hell on.

Ok.

I think of it in terms of dealing with any “privilege” (and here I am, now considering whether that works in talking about deaf/hearing or any disability). Essentially, I’m a 40 year old white dude who never had to think about a lot of these things, and a lot of the questions that are important to ask aren’t obvious

“Institutional ignorance” is the term I’ve been looking for... thank you!

Every sound you hear onscreen that isn’t people talking (and not always - that’s known as ADR or “Looping”) is put in later. Through the process of Foley editing. Bones breaking are often celery. Guns being cocked are actually can openers. Footsteps are various shoes being clipped by hand onto a tile or a cinder block

please tell us about how you stopped watching The Walking Dead too...

You’re right and the author made a mistake. Don’t even pay attention to the people clowning you for it as the authors sometimes do go back and edit their mistakes because someone alerted them to it.

It was great to leave HS and have zero trace of it follow me to college, and great again to leave college with zero baggage. This sounds like hell to me

And thats perfectly fine, you didnt write an entire article based on a fan game for an anime and somehow not know the source material. When that happens, I feel that its more for the clicks and not for any love or passion.

Nah just a bunch of people not familiar with the material and just covering the game blindly because it’s popular.

No, the author of this “article” is a degenerate who thinks Cyber Lip is a rip off of Metal Slug, even though the same team developed the game years prior

Allegedly, but everyone on it also plasters “I’M NOT INTERESTED IN SEX” or “I’M JUST LOOKING FOR FRIENDS, NOTHING MORE” on their profile, so it’s mostly just a confusing, stupid mess.

The sites and apps dedicated to casual sex are filled with people looking for their soulmates, and the ones dedicated to finding serious

I can see the appeal - the mostly-anonymous old web was so freeing and, somehow, more intimate and personal. You’re more free to be yourself when you aren’t yourself.

All kids in school need a phone. It is great for safety. IMO I would get them a new 3310 and an locked down iPod Touch. That way they wouldn’t drain the phones battery playing games, but also have an iPod Touch so that are able to play games, listen to streaming music and interact with friends.

I recently thought about just ditching using a mobile phone altogether, but it would be a pain in the ass to go without GPS navigation, Uber, and Moviepass. And maybe YouTube.
