If those people wanted to get to their destinations faster, they’d just walk up the free side of the escalator. They don't, though, so they’re clearly fine with waiting.

Because of embargoes, waiting for someone else to review it often means missing out on preorder bonuses that you can never get again. Let’s not pretend the industry doesn’t try their hardest to penalize customers who wait for reviews. It's not that much to expect a game to be worth the money you paid for it.

Really? I see a bunch of people saying $60 is change and if you don’t like it, you shouldn’t have bought it or should have played it before buying it (presumably by using psychic powers to figure out that you wouldn’t like it).

How am I supposed to preplay a game when the industry is deliberately avoiding demos? 

If the game sucks ass and you don’t play it for 20 hours because of that, it doesn’t matter if it’s $3 an hour. Imagine rating the value of movies solely based on the duration of “entertainment” and not how actually enjoyable it was.
