And I'm one step closer to generalizing about vegans.

Casa Bonita!

I don't think Jack Bauer can be beat. How many seasons of pain, both emotional and physical.

yep... they all knew what happened. That's why his team tweeted that she had apologized for her role in being beaten unconscious. When they tweeted that, to me that's as good as saying yep, we know he beat her.

This is the best thing I have read all week. Thank you.

Police terrify me, as a trans woman, too. It's one of my worst nightmares, being anywhere isolated / alone with them. I haven't had any bad experiences (thank god), but in my community, it seems like everybody knows somebody who has. Gahhh.

I totally agree that lots of people who had problems at home didn't become bullies because of it. Very few of the assholes who bullied me could possibly have had the problems I did at home. Kids these days end up in protective services pretty quick when they get what I got, and I didn't become a bully because of it.

Yes, because there was no snark in "What petty narcissism. Who in god's name is going to google the nuances and naming conventions of a microscopic minority and commit that knowledge (assuming it is correct) to memory all for the oft-chance they might run into said microscopic minority and spark a conversation

Entirely made up?

So why is it when we refer to cis boys and girls, we are not thinking about the fact that they have XY or XX chromosomes, but when people refer to trans boys and girls, that suddenly becomes the focus? I don't look at my daughter and think "two X chromosomes!" - I think "girl".

LOL

How many different trans people have to tell you that's hurtful before you listen? When most people say "boy" or "girl", they're not talking about science. That distinction is reserved specifically to upset trans people.

I know that the question was directed at Kat, but that's one that might vary with each individual.

I am still absolutely astounded that he claims to be an ally, and cannot understand why she, a trans woman of colour, could possibly have been afraid in that first interview, with a white cis man on his own terf, on national television. For someone to claim to be an ally and not be able to recognize that power

This x100.

Thanks for the cisplanation. Blinded by privilege much? You expect it to be the responsibility of minorities to go out of their way to do the work for the majority, and you call *me* narcissistic? That's rich.

Thanks Dalstongirl : -) It would never even occur to me to argue a point on white supremacy / black oppression with you. (white woman here). Much less tell you that you're wrong for being angry about that oppression. Allies need to do a lot less talking and a lot more listening when they're interacting with the

I didn't post any answers to any trans questions. I posted a response to the privileged view that it is somehow the job of minorities to educate the majority, and that if the minorities don't, any misunderstandings or busted shit that the majority says is now the minority's fault.

Derp. I tried responding, but it doesn't seem to have taken. I think this website sums it up nicely:
