You know, the last Gundam I really enjoyed was 0083. I liked how dark it was, especially since they styled killing a Gundam as killing a living being. When they got down to knives and fists, that was intense. I'd love another 0083. But I agree, I like the more mature anime. Psycho Pass, Canaan, Darker Than Black, even

You're ridiculous. That is all.

I didn't say my opinion was fact or that you even needed to care about my opinion at all. I was setting up my request for the opinions of others that are fans and had finished the series and to explain why they held those opinions. I believe a dictionary would define me as curious.

And you can spout accolades all day

To be fair, just asking for others' opinions has apparently created butt-frustration among the masses, and that no one wants to hear the opinion from someone who hasn't even finished the anime.

Apparently, they can see the inherent depth and complexity within Code Geass but they have zero reading comprehension with

I respectfully disagree. What your comment seems to be saying is that we shouldn't make an opinion about something and voice it out for discussion. Knowing why someone likes or dislikes something gives insight into their own personal tastes as well as discovering something one may have missed or seeing a new

I'm already acknowledging that fact in my comment to start with. I'm curious about the why.

Never said I didn't like CLAMP designs. Only stated that I didn't like Code Geass.

Eden of the East wasn't exactly what I'd describe as mature though. I thought it was a damn good anime for a broad range of ages.

Why would I be a girl and why would my gender matter? I usually find myself enjoying a vast array of anime but CG seemed so unfocused and cliched, in almost every aspect.

I guarantee you I'm not a shonen only person. Just because one does not enjoy a singular anime does not make their taste "pretty bad." Your attitude and insinuations, however...

But wading through the whole of season 1 just to get to the end is such a large task to propose to one who can't see the substance there to begin with. If only watching anime like that was easier... >_<

Yeah, I grew up with the 90's anime. Some of it I think is still amazing (Trigun, Outlaw Star), some of it unbearable now that I'm older (Rurouni Kenshin, Dragon Ball Z).

I did like the mecha. That was a plus for me.

I started with season one. I even had friends I was watching it with and everytime we discussed it, we ended up hating on it. I love moral ambiguity and favor a lot of the darker anime out there. Code Geass just seemed to be all over the place and totally disjointed or it was busy making itself a cliche. And this is

No, I like other CLAMP stuff but Tsubasa Chronicles and Code Geass just seemed so weak.

This was the kind of response I was looking for. Thanks!

Yeah, I have seen it enjoyed by those much younger than my self. I'm about your age. It can't really be that, can it? *shudder*

That's fine, I just want to know what the appeal was for those of a different opinion. That's a reasonable thing to wonder, right?

Code Geass... Why did anyone like that anime? I got through about 7-8 episodes before deciding it was a train-wreck and that I should just stop trying to discover why for myself. I realize now that I don't think I ever got a true answer from a fan. I had to settle for "Because," "Smexy Lelouch," and"It's Clamp."

No worries, it's a day-one buy for me.
