Ep.9 is an unrelenting mess from start to finish. Abrams has made one “meh” Star Wars and one awful one, exactly his track record with Star Trek.
This is the “Into Darkness” of the Star Wars universe. Time will be very, very harsh to this film and to Abrams.
There was nothing egregiously wrong with the movie. It had good performances, some truly stunning visuals, and a handful of great moments. But as a whole, it was unfocused and predictable.
