You’re exactly right. Going to Sturgis isn’t exactly cheap. And the few rooms that are available are insanely expensive. Most guys I know here on the east coast don’t have the vacation time to ride 3 days there, spend a week, and ride 3 days home. So hence why everyone is 50+ and white.

Most of the people I know that go there are middle aged, affluent, and motorcycle enthusiasts. It's not my thing, but I would not condemn them for their hobby any more than a classic car collector going to Pebble Beach. Maybe less.

It's not just you. I bought a Sportage and I love it. Sure, when I knock on the dash it sounds like banging on a toy drum. So I said, "How about I stop knocking on the dash and enjoy the panoramic roof and cooled seats that just cost thousands less than anything else?"
