An electric conversion would do wonders for this.  Silent, low-heat, and lowers the CG to make it a little more stable, which would be important for the inevitable power boost from an electric motor.

unfortunately no, because I live in New Jersey where we have a lot of leaves, and the Xterra’s catalytic converter can make those leaves spontaneously combust 

Not so much no dice as don’t want it at any price.  A supercharger on a vehicle with this much mileage that hasn’t been well cared for, very iffy to me.
