But I bet plenty of service or hospitality professionals would jump at the chance to do something like this for $50-150K (depending on their role), plus benefits, and to get that experience on their resume. …

I agree; he doesn’t seem the type to suffer affronts to his ego, or deal well in environments where he feels threatened or disrespected.
