True. They do have better rides over there now, but it still sucks to have to pay extra. I'm so used to having cast members get me in that I forget about paying extra to go into the smaller park.

Actually, in that time it was very important for spiritual teachers to have wives and families. This was before the days of the celibate priests and monks. Having a strong family was looked at as having a strong relationship with god.

They do! You have to go next door to California Adventure and they have beer, wine and margaritas. Also you can use my father's trick and take the monorail to the hotel to get toasted, then hop back on and come back.

At Disneyland my dad would take the monorail over to the hotel and spend a little time in the bar, then come back and resume the day. He went over there at least 5 times a visit. He also tried to smoke pot on Tom Sawyer's Island, but that's a different story.

I was being extreme because I'm making a bit of a joke.

I didn't even realize I did that, but now I see I do it constantly. Wow. I have to reevaluate my life for a moment, if you'll excuse me.

Thank you for pointing that out! I moved from the IE to Sacramento (south to north) and my husband and I can't help but be appalled by everyone saying 'hella' all the time.

This comment has seriously been in my head for days, I had to come back and say so. You hit the nail right on the head with that.

Excellent point. One of the things that drew me in to Thompson's work is how he can do all these things... the drug binges, driving while intoxicated, all sorts of highly illegal things in odd situations... he never seemed to be bragging about what he did. It just was. He did these crazy things, wrote about himself

And I do not like what I see or read. You're right, though, I do not know where she gets her income. It isn't correct for me to make that assumption.

I don't hate her, I just find her shallow and talentless. I don't see why reading the babbling of a pampered trust fund baby is entertaining, no matter how fucked up her life is or was or whatever. If I wanted to hear the opinion of a spoiled, self absorbed drug addict I have a number of family members I can call. I

I'm with you! I don't think there's a single illegal substance that is as easy to be on as molly. Of course, my definition of hard drugs is a little skewed.

Hahaha! That's probably for the best that it didn't have an effect on you, LSD is NOT good for tuning people out like, say, a strong painkiller or another opiate. Acid is very much a set and setting drug, the wrong environment can make things very uncomfortable and downright weird. Bad weird, mind.

Hear, hear! Well said.

I'm a casual user and I have a problem with that too. When someone says they don't want to do something/have promised themselves they wouldn't it's completely inappropriate to push. If I'm going to gobble some LSD that evening I will always offer, as a courtesy, but never try and coerce someone into doing anything.

How much did you take of the acid? What form was it in (drops, blotter, sugar cube) and did you get any slight visuals, body high, etc? Did you do it with any other substance? Have you ever had chemical imbalances or been treated for any sort of mood disorder? And what sort of setting were you in? Were you at home or

YES. Thank you.

Hunter never wrote long, sprawling texts on how cool it was to be him and just how fabulous and wonderful drugs are and how cool he is to be taking them. Fear and Loathing on the Campaign Trail '72 is looked at as one of the best books about that campaign, especially from the twisted vision of the counter culture.

XD Yeah I am a bit of a motor mouth when I talk and writing helps me slow down and express bigger ideas so I'm really into it.

No, thanks. I'd rather blame my encounters on the druggies and know that there are plenty of nice folks in Reno as well. Every large group has it's assholes and predators. It's human nature. I prefer to wait and deal with a person on a one-on-one basis before I decide I know them based on how they dress/what they
