No real shame in this. It's very good at being what it is, but it's being extremely dry worldbuilding.

Too young, yes.
Heinlein is very much like Heinlein in that book.
I was going to post this if no else had. I took a huge break in the middle of this because I simply couldn't stand it. Let's say 200-300 pages in. Finally returned to it and finished, which I am extremely glad for. Once things started moving, it got very satisfying.
Sort of like driving a Hummer, then.
Nope. The Whistle Stop Cafe referenced is in Irondale, Alabama, which is home to some of the worst fried green tomatoes I've ever eaten. Their other food was great, though.
Of course it's an alternate history. Otherwise, the first question everyone Ichabod introduces himself to would ask is "Like in the story?"
Space Pirates and Zombies is calling your name.
I am sensing a theme in the ship designs featured in that video. . .
Right. Disney seems to be able to put out work that is more beautiful than other studios even though you might expect them to be behind the curve in CG, which is impressive. Not sure that's a fair assessment. I challenge you to go back and look at the promotional materials for Fringe before its premiere and find something that tells you how it was going to do the mad scientist thing in a new way. Fringe billed itself as "J.J. Abrams does The X-Files", as far as I remember.
Can we kickstarter a Culture series with Nabeshin at the head?
I'm guessing she was in Jekyll, but also in Coupling.
I'm not sure that "hero" is a word you could apply to Fry. Maybe "Macguffin."
Agreed about Ayoade.
Younger looking than Smith!? He already looks—to those of us over the age of 30—practically like a teenager (albeit one with a brilliant grasp of how to play 1100 years old). Do you want the Doctor running around in diapers?
How was this not included?
Agreed on both accounts. I must also give props for trusting the VAs enough to not swap voices when you swap bodies. I have an irrational love for when cast members imitate each other. Farscape was great for this.
I don't think there is anything you could adequately plug into that comparison. Just watch an episode or two. You will know whether or not it's for you pretty quickly.
