Well I remember playing black ops at launch on LIVE and the lobby that show how many people playing was often above the million mark. Theres a reason Activision milks COD, it was such a money maker. I feel likes it’s died down quite a bit but it’s probably still a giant money maker. I haven’t played a COD since Black

Well COD at the time had over a million people playing at once just on Xbox.

Quote from some website: “Activision has logged over five million people playing Call of Duty at once in the days of Black Ops and Modern Warfare 2”

I think it is, especially if it is just running a version of android, effectively emulating the OUYA.

It’s not a philosophical reason to pirate. It’s actually just how it works based on data. You don’t sit at home telling yourself, “I want this conveniently and with more features”. No you look at the price, you judge if it’s worth it or if you can afford it, and then you pirate it or you buy it. If the game is 15$,

The thing is with the internet age, that’s what companies figured out. Piracy exist and it’s simple and convenient regardless of legality. To the average consumer, they don’t give a fuck. So their best bets are to make affordable products that are convenient, work well and offers things that the piracy doesn’t. That

Well except they are not because currently they need to port every single game and I can already play SNES roms on a homebrew DS. Currently the pirated option has more choice and is more convenient. Better would be that SNES games (at least the classics) are available on 3DS at a reasonable price.

And that’s the point

Interesting read about the sega post. It does seem like there are some hurdles. But they were also adding 3D and not just straight porting. It baffles me that something like a change in architecture is relevant when the specs of the machine are so drastically better.

Well I have the GBA games from the ambassador and I don’t have any problems so Ill need to look into that. I just finished Metroid Fusion and now playing Fire Emblem and everything looks dandy.

I have the GBA games from the ambassadors and they run fine for me. I beat yoshi’s island, Warioland 4, Metroid Fusion, Warioware and now am playing through Fire Emblem. Next up after is Minish Cap.

I don’t know if the issues would be more apparent if I was running the actual GBA version side by side but I don’t know

What? I understand for the N64 games. They need to be ported because the 3DS on it’s own might not handle it perfectly (especially control wise) but I call bullshit for the SNES. If my phone (I have a really OLD android) can run a SNES emulator flawlessly than please tell me what is keeping nintendo from doing the

It’s not that much better on WII U. They should have cross play for NES, SNES and GBA.

Example I wanted to get Donkey Kong Country 1-2-3 for the SNES. Well you can buy them on Wii U but not on the 3DS... WHY? If I had to choose only one I would have it on 3DS over Wii U but ideally I could buy one copy and play it on

Well I assumed the games were capped at 4 players. In the case of one game running that seems fine but if there are 100 000 games running, that is still 700 000 nodes. And I’m not saying it’s impossible, but microsoft will need to monitor demand closely to make sure it works properly.

Of course the launch timeframe

Well ya it’s hard to know how many people will be playing. Dota 2 has 700 000 people playing at once on average. Counter Strike 400 000 people. I know Call of Duty used to get in the millions at launch.

Crackdown might peak at 500 000 people but that would only be around launch time.

I’ll wait and see. The tech seems there but will they have enough servers? If a session can go up to 7 servers to calculate what is going on, how will that scale up to 500 000 players, or a million? I know that it’s not 7 servers at all time but I feel like they will need to monitor performance to keep the server

To me it comes down to price/quantity/quality. If your DLC has good content and is well priced then it can feel like a valuable purchase. But often this is not the case.

“What exactly is a nightmare?” The trailer is self aware!

This is an extreme case tho. Thats just how bad they fucked up. In the case of dark souls 2 it took like 48 hours. I think both are about average. I guess you could argue that the console version would of never released THIS bad.

Well ya you seem set then. I had the same problem where I used headphones when my ex was sleeping but I was playing online so my voice was probably louder then the game. I haven’t gamed with surround sound in a while but it was sweet when I did.

Even with Microsoft, who is pushing the feature, I don’t think they will release halo 3/ Reach and the GOW trilogy. Or else some people won’t buy the rereleases. And if the company making the feature doesn’t release it’s whole library, what hope de we have that other devs will support it.
