That’s not how resolution works dude. Lowering your laptop’s resolution is the same as the game upscaling. You realise your screen has a certain number of pixels, and anything under the native pixel count will be made up by the computer.

I don’t think it would tho. Downscaling preserves image quality, but upscaling stretches it. 4k is 4x 1080p. If the game you are running is at 1080p then your 4k screen will have to upscale the image 4 times and that will show. Most Xbox One aren’t even 1080p, some are at weird resolutions so it might not look so hot.…
