For me, the problem with such lists is that it really depends on one's mood. Do I want a good, serious story? Then, yes, City on the Edge of Forever and Inner Light are winners. But say I want something good, but lighter, then I would go with Tribbles. For humor, my favorites are Our Man Bashir (which I think the

Looks like an Audi Quattro humping a Renault....CP

Sorry, not including "Black Noon" by Art Garner is inexcusable. Easily the best car related book published this year.

Jalopnik's very own...

That is one gorgeous car! I think its perfect...I don't like it when the older cars look too new...they are old, they should look well cared for, but not showroom new, IMHO. The point of having a classic and/or exotic car, in my mind, is twofold. First, to share with others, and second, to enjoy driving them.

what a beauty! Would love to see more photos!

I have a w221 myself. My mechanic says the ABC on those is much better (albeit none are bulletproof). Of course, if you really like the look of the w220, you could find one where the ABC has blown and put in a "regular" suspension system. May take some time, but if you can find an owner whose ABC has blown up, you

Actually, my S63 is a w221 (2008), which is another reason my mechanic told me I picked "the right one" vs a w220. He reports that there are far fewer issues with the ABC system in the 221s vs the 220s. I have had it for a year now, and so far I really love it, but its my first Mercedes, so it took some getting used

My mechanic feels similarly. I have an s63, and I remember him telling me "you bought the right one" I asked him what he meant, he said that I didnt buy the s65 (the v12). He felt the MB V8s were much more robust than the v12s.

BTW, Tavarish.....BEST EBAY CHALLENGE EVER!!! not that I am biased towards MBs or anything...no...not at all!

Just to add, CARFAX says that this was a Florida car for its first 50K miles...no accidents reported...and the seller is offering an extended warranty...HELLO?!

uh, can't you just wash it? Besides, only 60,000 miles in nearly 15 years...barely 4000 miles per year.

Not very. Its actually the hydraulic Active Body Control (ABC) system that likes to go south on these W220s. Which is why you would want to take the seller up on the warranty that they are offering. The reliability of the V12 is debated - my MB mechanic doesn't like them at all.

Me likey!

Awesome!

I know! that even better...so when the ABC system inevitably blows up, you won't have to pay to fix it! ;-)

Nice find! I am looking at the ad for an estimated HP....I know stock its around 370...any ideas what the Renntech upgrades would take it to?

Oh, I am loving this one! Thanks Tavarish! How about 12 cylinders for the price of a new 4....er, not even....maybe a 3 cylinder engine'd new car even? Normally I would go for an AMG, but only 60,000 miles and less than 15 grand, nay, 13 grand, for an S600!? Whats not to like!?

I have mixed feelings....I love Lego and like the racing in F1, but not sure I was the goodness that is Lego to have anything to do the evil that is Bernie...

well, at least we know it hit the ground with the force of 1 G...
