Maybe "Cheap" is not a good word to use. It looks nice when new or untouched, but it scratches and wears out very quickly. Maybe there are other trims which I have not seen. I have only been inside a half dozen or so CTS-V's, but in all them the interior looked much older and more worn, particularly the plastic

I gotta say exterior wise, they seem to have held up very well....

I have only been in 2nd gen CTS-Vs. One I test drove with 10k miles and two others, one of which the owner had modified the interior with carbon fiber panels due to the issue of the plastic being easily worn. The stock interiors on the other two looked like they came from cars three times as old/3x as many miles.

Awesome cars. I think this is the only one in Wisconsin that is not a pile of rust

the black platic around the gear shifter and center console attracts more scratches than a DJ at a break dancing convention

Unless this somehow cures the Viper's wonderful tendency to have the front and back ends switch places, the only thing done here is to ruin the s2000's handling. CP

Great car. Only big negative is the cheap plastic interior. Would replace with a carbon fiber kit or similar.

I find it hard to believe that there wasn't something on the radar or dark clouds or something. I lived in Texas 5 years...you can the storms building, or the storm front coming. Granted, I haven't seen the race yet (DVR'd it) - will have to see, but would wager some teams gambled on no rain and lost..

As Pontiac also found the hard way, never name a car after a civilization that never discovered the wheel...

Had it happen to me at Road America...there is no worse feeling that hitting that pedal and nothing happens.

when I see this car all I can hear in my head is the line from "Thrift Shop" - this is f***ing awesome! Just hope they dont flub it up..

If you want a track day car = NP. Anything else and it's a piece of Corolla crapola = CP

I have always struggled to express how I feel about Ferrari, and your piece here just nailed it for me. Wonderfully written. There is one part missing and that is Ferrari owners. I have yet to meet one whose nose isn't cruising at 40000 feet. I am sure there are nice Ferrari owners out there...I just have yet to

I define vulgar as "even if I had the money I wouldn't be caught dead in that car". All of these qualify except the Merc 6x6 - it's not vulgar, just extremely bad ass

NP ...I'd buy it and upgrade the stereo just so I could play Pantera in a Pantera

there's an Old Spice commercial in there somewhere....

I have always found it interesting that everyone gets all bananas about supercars that can barely hold two people and goes 220mph vs sports coupes, sedans and wagons that can seat 4-5 and go 180. Sure, they may not look as pretty, but the engineering it takes should be considered equal to or even greater than that of

Forget airborne, orbital applications of this tech would be a total game changer. Remember the classic 80s movie "Real Genius"?

I think that the SL no longer is the top of the line - it's been supplanted by the SLS, and now the AMG GT - and the focus of MBs design is on those models instead. That being said at least MB tries some different things in its designs - you can much more easily tell the different models in their line up vs BMW and
