You’re so pithy. Here’s your jerk-flavored cookie.

This here everyone is what a violation of one’s free speech actually looks like. The Russian government is arresting him for saying negative things about the Russian Orthodox Church. This is one of the times where it’s appropriate to say that this man’s free speech is being violated.

It’s an interesting idea- but my understanding is that feather headdresses were not worn by the Cherokee? (Cheyanne, yes)

Using it as a costume or look I’m so cute is insulting. Considering we’re a minority and already persecuted. Not only do we not have our land now we’re not allowed our ceremonial dress and attire. Why does everything have to be yours? Why do we need to explain its disrespectful to wear pierces for pure self promotion

For starters I am pretty sure that the tribe they are part of would have a problem with it, and would criticize them for it. Just like the military and stolen valor.

The idea of punching down. I guess you were unfamiliar with it?

The leaders, others who do brave deeds and members of the military have been granted that honor.

Sadly ignorant people like you are everywhere.

She already apologized like an adult human with common sense. Why are you acting like a moron child when it doesn’t have anything to with you and it’s done?

The significance was for warriors who earned a high place of respect in the community. They held ceremonial and formal significance. The Plains Indians were not the only ones to wear them.

You’ve haven’t won any battles, wars or anything to have earned the right to a war bonnet. Fuck you for equating it to a cowboy hat.

Wow, the rare legit apology. Well done ma’am.

People’s inability to figure out what the first amendment means and how it does or does not impact them and their actions will never cease to amaze me.

Again, conflating freedom of speech with freedom of platform (a right that doesn’t exist). This guy speaks all the time, indeed, makes his entire livelihood on it through speaking and publishing. A ‘gang’ of ‘lunatic college kids’ using their freedom to be on the campus of the college they* paid U.S. legal tender to

Part of the problem, as I see it, is that you are generalizing a philosophy based on limited instances. The article discusses these conflicts specifically in the college context.

The freedom of speech is the right not to be treated differently than others based on your opinions.

Nobody’s opinions are invalid. They’re opinions. Everyone is entitled to their view. This is fundamental.

Indeed, we shouldn’t rally. But instead literally tear ourselves apart as a group, because the most vocal of us can’t agree on proper branding for the number of genders available on the shelf.

But it’s not illiberalism. Protesters standing up and talking over top of Murray isn’t an abrogation of freedom of speech, and if you think it is, you do not understand the First Amendment.
