I don't think they meant the game itself, rather the online of the Wii as a whole and how it is poorly integrated in that the online components vary by game.
It doesn't necessarily make it "shitty", but there are a lot of unnecessary hoops to jump through. That coupled with the lack of features means it probably won't be your choice for Call of Duty unless the Wii is your only console.
That's the problem, it's not a unified experience.
Honestly, I don't think anyone would mind compromises to see that the games are released here.

The problem with digital distribution is that it's convenient, but expects you to pay more for that convenience. For some people the price is more important than the convenience.

Well I have good news. Just as I thought, they won't.
I doubt Home will ever be out of beta. I used it for a good two or three years, and when something goes wrong with an item you purchased, that is the fallback.
So Home is becoming VMK. That's nice.
Home itself isn't changing, more-or-less just the GUI. But either way, that is an obvious yes.
If they still made Tony Hawk games the way they used to, I would buy them.
