less controversial would be a high tax rate on the wealthy that is used to fund programs for the poor. We already have this, we could just do more of it.

so I’m guessing you disagree with the fundamental premise of this article, being that women tend to suffer the same types of suppression and violence at the hands of their own community regardless of race?
yeah that is total bull shit. if someone is trolling by pretending to be fascist all they are doing is getting people to exorcise their anti fascist muscle. As far as I’m concerned using that muscle is a public service, whether it is caused by a troll or not.
Here are two articles. One pointing out that the Volt is not a true electric car as the gas engine can deliver power to the wheels under certain circumstances. The other explaining what I’m talking about
compared to the volt it wouldn’t be, I grant you that. Both would resolve the rural refueling issue. The reason I push the true electric with generator is because you can ditch a whole bunch of systems / pieces that add weight / complexity (pretty much the whole drive train if you mount the electric motors in the…
I’m not sure where you got your information from. I know people who have a volt and the gas engine kicks in any time they are driving at upper end highway speeds (somewhere between 60 and 80 mph) regardless of battery charge.
you are asking if the racist, xenophobic, sexist group of internet trolls is made up of ass hole racists / sexists? This is a chicken and the egg question lol
the volt is a straight up hybrid. it isn’t any more of an electric car then a prius. There is direct linkage between the gas engine and the drive train. We have yet to see a true electric car (like the Leaf or the Teslas) with an onboard range extender
a plug in hybrid is not the same as on board generator. The plug in hybrids still hook the gas motor directly to the wheels. That means you need a transmission, gear box etc. It also means you can’t run the engine in the optimal RPM at all times since it needs to vary it’s power output. None the less they will start…
that situation, really rural areas, will probably never see an all electric solution. the best bet is an all electric car with a gas generator on board for range. The generator wouldn’t be hooked up to the drive train so it could be a single piston that runs at a steady RPM rate to maximize efficiency and reduce…
why would this compare to a town car and not an MKS?
We aren’t talking about Town Cars or Crown Vics, the Model S is put up against the top of the line luxury models, so for lincoln I would think it would be the MKS. Those models tend to have all kinds of new features which are notorious for breaking over time (thinking about BMW 7 series, Mercedes S500 etc.)
the greater Houston area is FILLED with suburban whites who vote republican and have backed regular voter suppression efforts. They should be forced to wait the 91 days that NY’ers had to wait after Sandy because Ted Cruz is an ass hole
If you aren’t willing to publicly stand by your statements then you probably shouldn’t be making them in public. The ‘right to free speech’ is a constitutional right and is between a citizen and his/her government. Has nothing to do with how other citizens react to said speech.
or option 3) the people have been lied to, taught a false narrative in school and generally aren’t aware of what is objectively in their best interest
I think they are trying to go for regular buyers, not early adopters, with the price point
Regarding capital gains, if you invest 300K and you make 5K in profit, only the 5K is taxed, the 300K is never taxed. Principle is never taxed. Don’t get what is so hard to understand, profit = income.
The 300K is not taxed, and never will be. If you decide to invest money, regardless of how you received that money (income from work, inheritance etc.) then the profit you make will be taxed, same as if a hedge fund buys a business it is taxed on the profits it receives from said business. Again, the system is…
I live in Astoria, grew up in Long Island. My opinion - 250K for a family is upper middle class possibly rich (depends on the age of the couple), 500K for a family is rich.
your example makes no sense. we don’t tax savings so the 300K has nothing to do with it. Regarding why we should tax higher incomes more than lower incomes; wealth should not be gathered into great pools of personal property / estates. That is bad for the economy, bad for our society and bad for the rule of law. It…
