@TheOtherHalf: Sure, and w3schools.com, another "real-world" site, gets 47% of its hits from Firefox. As NorwoodIsMyHero says, you have to consider your audience. Which is why people use (supposedly) neutral numbers from analytics firms like [StatCounter.com] or MarketShare.HitsLink.com.

Al Gore's office is about as green as a Hummer towing another Hummer.

You can do something very similar using built-in Windows features, provided you're not using IE as your main browser (or aren't using the "Links" toolbar in IE if it *is* your main browser).

For better or for worse, I've never put a number out there first. When the interviewer asked what I was looking to get, I'd respond with something like, "I'm an above-average worker looking to get a competitive salary. What's the range for this position?" In my first job out of college, we went back and forth like

@SukritiMagumbalee: Hmm. So with all the precision watchmakers, the Swiss must be obsessed with knowing exactly how late they're running!

@A.Franklin: Actually, the 8" widths might not be possible depending on where those bamboo curtains are stitched... My bad.

@CJG: Good point.

@astrosmash: But once the Nano is strapped to your bicep, you can't use most of that functionality without breaking stride. Sure, the Nano is better for, well, everything else; but for $39, the last-gen Shuffle provides all the music-player functionality you need for running.

@portezbie: I know every tech company steals their ideas from others, but who knew Apple would be ripping off Samuel Morse? :-)

@JuniorAndTorrie: Yeah, I did like how XP let you do that! Too bad they didn't carry it forward (though you and I may be the only ones that notice...)
