This is the generic version. Anyone's free to make it. They just need to make their own. Problem is the market isn't big enough to reward the effort.

The problem is that it’s a niche drug. Even with the looser restrictions of a generic, there’s a big investment up-front to make a viable replacement. ROI would probably be in the decade realm.

He jacked the price on a 62-year old generic drug? Dude's got some cojones on him. And a complete lack of anything resembling a conscience.

I personally cope by skipping a lot of the optional content. I used to try to milk every achievement out of a game - now I play the main story, and it was enjoyable I’ll go back and play around some more.

The invading jerks are the problem - every time someone is kind enough to rate my beg, I turn human and almost instantly get invaded. I didn't realize I could still turn human and use Solaire without an internet connection, though. Thanks for the tip!

I'd read that.

Exactly. That’s why this thing makes no sense. A responsible gun owner knows when it’s appropriate to use their firearm. An irresponsible gun owner wouldn’t bother with a safety device.

Didn’t Cheney already take care of Bush’s dirty work?

In some ways that makes me feel worse. Optimizing for lighting resist is something I understand, but if I want to do that I have to backtrack two hours and grind loot another two.

But their family will.

The gun owners I know don’t keep a loaded gun within reach. They have them locked up - easy to access if they hear something knocking around downstairs, but inaccessible to children or wayward guests.

This doesn’t seem all that practical. You’ve got one non-lethal shot, and then the rest of the mag is lethal. Nice if you’re James Bond, but I don’t think your average officer can dead-eye a perpetrator at first contact.

Sen's fortress benefits heavily from pausing. It's impatience that usually kills you.

“I can’t believe it’s not murder"

I think it is valid not to go to that particular store anymore, though. Frequent bad experiences from a single location deserve a boycott.

Of for the love of...

This is a cultural case study. I think there’s a lot to mine here.

What I get out of this -

There is a lot of drek to that programming, but good stuff to be had as well. Certainly that thing with the blair witch-like drama where they were searching for a megalodon was utter crap. But I enjoyed the ones where they’re just trying to track specific large sharks to identify migration patterns and speculate on

In my experience, nostalgia is best left in the recesses of the mind. It typically doesn’t work out well. New spins ultimately fail to appease either old fans or newcomers. Even watching the originals, rarely does anything hold the same luster as what’s in the mind’s eye. As much as I’d clamor for a few new episodes
