I think older emulated games are starting to fall under the “public domain” category, so getting the ROMs doesn’t necessarily count as piracy. I don’t know if they follow the same terms as patent law, but if they do the publishers aren’t entitled to anything released before 1995.

Glad to know there's more than one sucker for nostalgia out there. Between original copies, copies I bought later because I lost the first one, collections, remakes, and pinball... oh god, the pinball. With the money I've spent on nostalgia I could've bought... I don't know. One quarter of a pinball cabinet, maybe.

I don’t now, but did in the past. When I was a young teenager, I didn’t have much income. I had a paper route that netted about enough to buy 1 game a month. Later on when I could drive I took other delivery jobs, but then most of my money was reserved for gas, insurance, and college savings.

Sometimes they have to stick you three or four times before they get something functional.

I recognize it’s a misspelling, but it’s prescient.

Jeff Goldblum could have done it. If you can virus up alien tech with a MacBook, you can clean off a battery connection.

Carnosaur 4! (The embiggened bitery)

$71? That seems... damn. I was hoping for a double entendre, or at least an innuendo. It’s not coming to me.

They felt the franchise has enough pull that they didn’t need a Kickstarter, I guess.

Aping a Jon Mulaney bit.

Aaaargh!

Maybe you get to meet your great-great grandchildren. I haven’t gotten to New Vegas yet, but IIRC there was a “DNA” system - you created your parents, and that determined what you looked like. Maybe they have something like that planned - mix your lineage with pre-determined or random survivors, but weight your traits

But did the drastic change improve your self esteem? It sounds like you solve your primary detriment.

I think that situation only works in those societies when the men have a distinct a societal dominance (typically by religious doctrine, but potentially by brutality/invasion). When a woman has the same rights and protections as a man, the maintenance quickly outweighs the novelty.

You both sound like you've got your stuff together, actually. Recognizing that you don't want to be in a relationship is way more mature than going head over heels every time like the unfortunate Anxiety Queen. Knowing what you don't want is just as valuable, potentially more so, than knowing what you want.

I was wondering that same thing. Are they maybe referring to a Trans?

A recommendation is insufficient. That last bit of the first paragraph was laugh out loud funny and deserves to be recognized as such.

I think poly/mono is akin to gay/straight, but even more so. Gay/straight can still go bi. If you're poly, that's an all-the-way sort of thing. You can't be partially polyamorous.

Did you reverse your numbers? At 5'8" 210 is either portly or roided out. 145 is lithe. If you lost 65 pounds by not going to the gym, it means you're starving. In which case, you should probably have a sandwich.

It's a pretty big deal if you happen to be 20.
