Some people just need an excuse.  For gun nuts, they are looking for any excuse to legally kill, such as black man who they claim is a criminal and fight back.  For cops it is a black kid with a stick on the playground.  These twitter feeds provide an excuse to vote for Trump and claim that one is not a white

Oh thanks! It might be useful to know who’s boot is on my neck in the coming days.

So you disagree because of a single personal interaction that didn’t even fit the parameters described in this piece? The BLM folks didn’t ask people not to post black squares, they asked not to post black squares with the hashtag. So the post you’re referring to is irrelevant to the content of this article

Not entirely true, there are also enlightened centrists who can see both sides.

One thing I’ve noticed spending all day consuming every video and post emerging from all this: LOT of these All Lives Matter people went back to wearing Nike stuff, despite what I’m sure they were saying in 2017.

How the real Law & Order president behaves - he doesn’t fuck around with racists.

The three times someone has played a loud video or game on their phone while we’re waiting in line like it’s their own living room, it was all dudes in their forties or fifties.

The problem is that we saw in the last election that 62% of white men and 47% of white women voted Trump.

But Dubey told the Washington Post that he’s no hero. “If people like us aren’t going to open a door, then who the fuck is?”

In addition, police intercepted the first order of pizza that Dubey ordered to feed his hungry houseguests, and an upper level police officer knocked on the door at least once to say they were there because someone “called in medical distress” - Dubey and the people inside said no they did not, and turned the

Dear Whypeepo,

This post and its headline are a bit unfair. The point of the Rolling Stone article that you cite, and similar reporting today, is that the use of BLM hashtags on these blackout posts is wreaking havoc for people trying to find actual information. Not a value judgement on the posts themselves.

US police are an enforcement arm of the white supremacist state. If they want to be considered human beings, they can quit or turn the guns around on their fellow officers when they start attacking the people. Until then, I’m not going to grant them that consideration.

My biggest takeaway from watching the various police around the nation is that they had better hope they never arrive at an actual violent riot. Forget armed protesters, they are allowing large crowds to regularly work around behind them. They are begging to be swarmed from all sides.

Biden and his all-black mask have mostly been hunkered down there since the coronavirus pandemic hit. Biden has been heavily criticized for this from both the left and the right

I’d strongly suggest updating the headline of the article as it’s misleading. It’s not the use of the black square images, it’s the use of the image COUPLED WITH the #blacklivesmatter hashtag. Additionally, I’d probably add an extra mention that just posting a black image is not enough and people should still be

This made me a little teary eyed to see how this man opened up his home for others. This is America. This is the America I’ve known and I want, not all the other shit that was outside of his home.

I mean, I’m not sure if you’re being sarcastic or not, but the whole problem is that organized protests with clear speeches by community leaders happen all the time, including in the midst of this, and none of it gets press UNTIL stuff goes all wobbly.

For instance, I work on McAllister in San Francisco and there were

The police are out of control, and their escalation is just making things worse. This is not what “protect and serve” should look like.

That’s about the moral validity of holding the people WHO DID IT responsible. Open to question, certainly.
