Kind of like what they did? They were constantly making changes to the space shuttle. The problem is, and I say this as someone with light physics and engineering knowledge, it suffers from a fatal design flaw. The wings are subject to being damaged in a catostrophic manner by falling ice during liftoff. This has

Settings -> Wifi -> Ask to Join Networks set to ON? Also, try Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings.

It's a 55 meg update; I'd be willing to bet that Apple requires it to be over wifi at the request of the cell carriers. Same thing they do for large apps in the app store.

I thought all iPhones had such a sensor, so that the phone doesn't take input while held up to your head? Why would they need another sensor for this?

What about the PS3? It was rumored to cost $900 to manufacture at launch.

It's somewhat heavy. When I read books on it, I feel like I have to hold it with 2 hands to be comfortable, or prop it up using the case (Speck flip cover). It's not ideal for reading, but I like having the extra screen real estate for browsing. I'll probably get a kindle touch for christmas to use exclusively for

It doesn't have to match the Fire. The Fire is a 7" tablet, the iPad is 9.7", with minimum 100% more storage, up to 800%. The Fire is plastic, the iPad is aluminum. I happen to own an iPad 2 and a touchpad. IMO, the iPad is worth the premium (I can't say that about Apple's computers).

Agreed. Amazon appears to be breaking even on the Fire, if it isn't taking a loss. They will make a profit on selling Amazon services and products through the Fire.

"the problem was that webOS bugs were not removed before release. And yes that was HP’s fault for jumping the gun."

I agree that it was "secretive", but I would not call it a state secret, which usually implies there is some effort to keep it classified. Prosecuting people for treason and some such.

Everyone falling all over themselves to paint the Fire as the iPad killer (not Gizmodo, talking about the media in general) forgets that Apple itself has admitted that they can drop the price on the iPad whenever they want, and still make a profit. Apple hasn't had a reason to.... possibly until now. So I'm glad

In what way is this a state secret? Who is using it for secret transport? Do you honestly think it was a secret back when it was in use?

What about the iPad 2? There is no ipad that runs Siri.

"Siri is the big 4S hype factor, and without that, Apple would have a hard(er) job convincing anyone the upgrade is worth it. "

Antennagate was a hardware design failure that affected every iPhone 4 at launch. The battery issue on 4S is a software issue affecting a handful of people. Totally different problems and resolution.

"Another flaw in the human character is that everybody wants to build and nobody wants to do maintenance" - Kurt Vonnegut Jr

Wasn't this always the plan? Try to make money/recoup investment/staunch losses from the fire sale by selling it off? Is this supposed to be a suprise?

Yes, I'm quick to pull the trigger on ignorant people. You talk about graffiti? How do we know the graffiti was from OWS? Was it fresh? Graffiti is irrelevant; you are grasping at anything possible to discredit people you don't agree with. Members of the tea party beat a woman at a Rand Paul rally, where was your faux

I don't understand all the whiners out there.

So old that time looped around and the 3G is now futuristic?
