Eh, hard to say. She hasn’t been endearing herself to people since the whole The Center Won’t Hold fiasco. She played the “don’t pit women against each other” when people were asking her about Weiss, which seemed VERY manipulative - especially since we can pretty much confirm that Weiss’ side of the story is true

Am I wrong, or am I getting the real impression that Carrie is kind of an awful person?  Something about her (and Fred Armisen) that rubbed me wrong about Portlandia.  I just get a vibe from her that she’ll stab you in the back or front.

the dominant musical mode on Path Of Wellnessis spiky, deconstructed post-punk, the record also re-introduces the warm, organic hard-rock sound that dominated 2005's The Woods

Honestly, Grohl’s erasure would be more forgivable. He’s been pretty open about Cobain not treating him like an equal member and shrugging off his attempted contributions.

Yep. This is a disgraceful, mendacious review.

I’m glad to see the other commenters stating this, but it is really gross to pretend Janet Weiss was always a guest drummer, and reeks of something the band (which has become gross in Carrie’s apparent desire to control their image and PR) has fed as a talking point. Otherwise why throw it out there without examining

This review feels like it hits every bullet point of a press release kit.

Oh, come on. Janet was only with the band for - checks notes - 23 of the 25 years of the band’s existence. Why, that’s barely a blip on the band’s history!

The erasure of Janet Weiss as “just another drummer” is fucking pathetic.

Saying Sleater-Kinney has seen drummers come and go” is a little like saying “Nirvana saw drummers come and go.” Yeah, there were others before, but only one matters, and they were a huge part of the band.

Now playing

I’m excited/trepidatious to listen to the new album, but suggesting that the band has “always been Corin and Carrie” smacks a bit of the sort of revisionism in the Spinal Tap bit when Nigel leaves the band.

Also the relatively unnamed woman in Black Panther who was working with Killmonger, who was pretty much the only African-American woman character in the entire film. Also Gamora’s death in Infinity War if you are looking for women of color being murdered.

Rosario Dawson’s character being beaten with a bat in Daredevil, Dr. Cho being hit with a battering ram in Age of Ultron, Raya being kicked in the chest and murdered in Jessica Jones....there’s likely more, I used to have a running list in my head because I was so shocked about it happening so often. It would always

I’m Perd Hapley, and the question I am going to ask you is, are you prepared to die, Star Lord?

Biden promised $2,000 checks, nobody’s gotten $2,000 checks.

Dems have control. They have 50 seats plus the vice president, who breaks ties. That gives them control. That is not a matter of opinion, it is a matter of fact.

When you promise $2,000 checks, and then deliver $1,400 checks, you broke your promise. That is not up for discussion, end of story. That is irrefutable fact. The Democratic party 100% has the power to do this, and as a party they are not. That is 100% irrefutable fact.

And I didn’t vote for Trump, I voted for Biden.

Bernie publically said he would go state to state and hold rallies in support of any popular legislation he wanted to pass to put pressure on Congress. Would it have been a 100% guarantee? No, but it’s better than wheeling dealing backroom deals that go no where and keep people in the dark.

His party controls both houses.

The filibuster isn’t even a consideration in this. There’s nothing Republicans can do. Using budget reconciliation, they only need 51 votes. They have this with Harris as the tie breaker.
