Its a real shame Paul King isn’t directing this. He’s a true visualist, and can segue with the very very best of them

I love both the Paddington movies. Really wonderful films. Warm, funny, charming, sweet, smart... They’re so good! I was thrilled to see that a third is in development, but I don’t know. Without King? Maybe it will work, but my excitement is much diminished by that part of the news.
In the meantime, I remember the minor firestorm that resulted when several top TV writers for this very site finally watched the WKRP “As God is my witness, I thought that turkeys could fly” episode and one came away with this:
If I had to choose (why would I? Imagine your own scenario) I’d choose only films from before 1975 rather than only films after.
OK, this guy’s take sucks, but let’s get to the important question: why does the movie poster for Laura basically give away the ending?!
Yeah these peeps are bullshitters who make posts like this for contrarian attention - notice how quickly he walked back his initial snarky post as soon as he was called out by it to say how he was trying to educate himself.
True, but Young Frankenstein is pretty amazing without having seen the original.
The issue is less with not enjoying Citizen Kane and more in his “no films made before 1975" rule and his implication that there’s nothing for modern audiences in that film or others from its era. Personally, I think Citizen Kane is a helluva good time and I don’t need a breakdown of every new technique it pioneered…
Young Frankenstein is a great suggestion but since he won’t watch the original he won’t get just how next level the YF satire is.
Joss [Whedon] was kind of like, “Hey, I want to give you this, ’cause the other thing didn’t work out. And you only got to wear one costume on Firefly so now you get to wear dresses and look really pretty, And while you’re doing that you’ll also be eating souls.”
Thing is, he doesn’t really owe us details - it’s an open secret that Joss Whedon is a piece of crap. We didn’t know the details of him firing Charisma, but it’s been known he did it because she was pregnant for a long time. And his ex-wife wrote an open letter a few years back detailing some of his abuse and…
I will never forget what Abed said about Depp in an otherwise pretty lame subplot of Community: “Robert Downey Jr.? Good. Jim Belushi? Bad. Jean-Claude Van Damme? The good kind of bad. Johnny Depp? The bad kind of good.”
Steel Dawn suffers from a problem that is slowly dragging the game’s story down. A lack of character persistence or recognition in the world.
“and set to be followed by a second chapter sometime next year”
Welp... Fuuuuuuuuuuck. They really are going to keep beating this dead horse until it’s just palatable enough to a subset of Fallout fans that Bethesda can have their version of GTA Online and never have to put forth the effort of creating a deep and…
“Built at the most fundamental levels as a multiplayer game driven by scavenging, campsite crafting, and continuous scavenging, the game is still Fallout Online, and Steel Dawn doesn’t change that.”
Someone on another forum pointed out that Ashoka’s intro was the lightside version of Vader’s corridor scene in Rogue One.
I don’t know if this has been mentioned before, but can you please provide an external link? The video was great, but it looked terrible on this website.
"young black male" you mean the 12 year old boy? You're right, totally had it coming…
