90 miles plus a range extender would be nearly ideal for rural residents who live in places with poor charging infrastructure. Enough EV range for the 80 mile shopping run or commute, but infinite range when travelling.  Pity they put it in a package that seems to be trying to be as useless as possible.

The rotary engine will make it very compact, very smooth, much more than the BMW REX.

During the period in the 70s and 80s when used DSes had essentially no value, many of their owners did just that.

This is a bit off topic, but I’ve often wondered if some sort of automated anti-tailgating tech could be developed. Maybe measuring the time between vehicles and fining anyone following less than 1.5 seconds behind the car in front?

If would have been more on-point if they had used a Dacia Spring.

True.  So a coerced cooperation then?

VW made VR6s, and VR5s, but I know of no VR4s or W4s.

I’d go with a metre and a half long pointed stainless steel rod mounted at radiator height to the back of my car were it not for the hazard to motorcyclists etc.

Inevitable.

Also old. I can go a fair distance without assistance. The e part means I can get back home.

Iso RiVolta!

“Look at that glorious door panel.”

Was the intentional dent intentionally put there by the owner, or by Subaru as some sort of weird (even for Subaru) marketing ploy?

I learned to drive a clutch by backing my family’s Vega up our rather steep driveway to the level part for its daily oil level check. After that, changing gears is a cinch.

The Mustang Mach E is similarly semi-screwed for the same reason, just in case that was your other recurring EV disappointment.

So does this mean you’re not going to publish the answers?

Just you wait.

My guess is that the current delay is due to SK Innovation being banned from making batteries in the US due to an intellectual property dispute with LG Chem, which LG won. SKI was going to be the battery supplier for VW’s Chattanooga plant, so VW is in a bit of a bind until they work something out.

If you can stomach commercial campsites, many have sites with 30 amp hookups. You can charge from those. It’s not wilderness, for sure, but probably cheaper than a motel while en route to the wilderness, and you wake up with a full battery.
