I’d love to see Jalopnik break off from the garbage that is the rest of formerly known as Gawker universe trash.

You can look at an Aston from inside a Porsche.
The Aston will be falling apart and the 911 will be going up in value.
Nah, I’d still have the 911, because I’m a snotty Porsche snob and I know the Aston likely won’t hold up well past a few years.
This is almost identical to my V70R. Same year, same color, same interior, stick shift (but no jump seat, unfortunately). Mine has fewer miles (about 111,000 when I bought it), and I paid slightly more than what this seller is asking.
As a recent owner of the sedan sibling this is super NP, especially with the bevel gear mod being done preemptively. Parts aren’t cheap, think $1400 a corner for the adjustable shocks but the aftermarket is alive and well, as are the internet boards for Rrrrrrr’s. The handling is outstanding, they are quick, even by…
You’re not really going to get a better price for this car. The manual makes it fairly rare, to the point that cars.com has exactly five V70 manuals right now, one of which is a 2006 136,000 mile Turbo R going for $12,000.
The angle gear issues are literally THE ONLY reason I’ve not bought one in all these years. If there was ever a permanent fix for the crappy Haldex units, I’d buy one in a heart beat in sedan form. The car above has now been sold, but for good reason and it was going to be NP from me anyway. That’s a lot of vehicle…
It’s not priced like a “collectible” (or wasn’t, it appears to have sold in under a day given that it was a steal in the V70 R market). It’s priced like a daily driver that you buy and run in a fleet of three fun, interesting cars until your friend offers to trade a Land Cruiser for it or something. A collectible…
We do live in a golden age of used cars. 300hp, wagon, manual, AWD, cool-ish badge, can be serviced/worked on at home, $8000. If you don’t like this, just quit the site and don’t look back. You were never meant for it, it was never meant for you.
Turbo, AWD, manual transmission Volvo wagon?? Literally the Jalop car minus being brown. NP for days!
There needs to be a third voting category: “such a CP that Rob is obviously trolling us today.”
So some idiot thinks a 25 mile, automatic, dead Pontiac brand car is worth 49k? What crackpipe did they smoke? You can get so many fantastic cars, shit you can almost get a CPO 997 turbo for that money. Porsche or Pontiac............hrmmmmm.
I happen to like flying in and out of Dulles. Reagan, however...
Came here to say this. A Fiero drivetrain in a Ferrari would completely mindfuck people at car shows.
Yank the body off and graft a clean Pontiac Fiero onto it for the ultimate reverse kit car.
Make it fit!
Even though I KNOW I would never (comfortably) fit since I’m 6'4", I still said np. Fuck it, I think it’s cool.
I don’t doubt the appraisal at $21k, but that’s not a market value. That’s a generous insurance value. I’m also a huge fan of the Archie’s chops. Face it, this car looks cool. Being #8 is of concern. As an earlier chop, I don’t know when they switch from Lexan to glass side windows, and if this is a Lexan…
I mean, look, I’m 5'6", so I don’t totally mind, but I guess I just want an Esprit V8.
