So we’re agreed that this car won’t work for everyone. Can you name us a car that WILL WORK for everyone.

OMFG! You missed the whole point of this comment. This car won’t work for everybody because no car works for everybody. No company even tries to build and market a car that works for everybody. If this car won’t work for you, you can shop around to try to find one that does…
There used to be shows where Public Defenders and criminal defense attorneys were the good guys (Perry Mason, etc.). Those days are long since past.
Law Enforcement Officer.
If you’re riding in the back, the front seat passengers are your crumple zone.
$13,000?!? Lol! With 850 original miles, the dealer would have absolutely no problem getting $30K for it. In fact, I think the bidding on eBay even hit $30K. But is it a six figure car? No. Obviously.
I don’t know what “patterned after” means, but the ELR is virtually identical to the concept Converj…
Some people prefer coupes to sedans, and many people really appreciate a first class interior. And we’ll-adjusted people don’t reflexively refer to anyone with different tastes in cars as “morons”…
WHAT?!?
Lol! What car are you imagining that would give you range anxiety?!? If you get range anxiety in an ELR, you should see your doctor about upping your meds…
Did you ever sit in an ELR? The ELR interior is worlds apart from that of the Volt. There’s no comparison.
How could any car reviewer in his right mind confuse the Volt interior for the ELR interior. Boggles the mind…
DeMuro’s basic complaint was that the ELR was ridiculously overpriced- which it was. If it had been more reasonably priced- say, in the low to mid $50Ks, I think his review would have favorable.
An ELR is NOT “basically a Chevy Volt”. They do not share a single exterior body panel. The wheels are different and not compatible. The interior on an ELR is top notch-even for Cadillac. The Volt? Isn’t…. (In fact I find it hard to believe you’ve ever sat inside an ELR if you fund the interiors to be identical).
I think that at the very beginning, there may have been an intention to actually manufacture this thing, but then like with Mel Brook’s “The Producers”, they realized the real money was to be made by not producing anything. Actual manufacturing is hard. And expensive.
True. You ever see “Hogan’s Heroes”? You wouldn’t if somebody pitched that idea today…
Except this Thing killed a lot of people…
