GM is good at making V8 engines. Period. Before they started pushing AFM, the LS-based V8s were just about the best engines you could get.

Pontiac could have sold all the aussie goodies like the Commodore and Monaro, maybe eventually resurrected the Trans Am and made a killing.

I mean they could have just given us all of the performance Australia and European models we dont get and I would have been fine with it.

Indeed, Pontiac would’ve done well as a niche performance-car brand within a combined Pontiac-Buick-GMC-Cadillac sales channel. No brand-diluting crossovers because the dealers would still have them for sales volume, they just wouldn’t be badged Pontiac.

While cars are on a decline, I still think Pontiac could have done well. Just look at the Stinger compared to the G8. It just wasnt as profitable as Buick at the time.

THANK YOU! I came to say the same. GM’s main problem is that everyone hates GM and no matter what they do it will never be good enough. 

Let’s be fair, GM is great at lots of things including but not limited to:

Pontiac could have lived as a portal to Australia. Give us Monaros, Commodores, and Utes. Now that the Australian car industry has collapsed it doesn't make much of a difference but man what a crazy 10 years that would have been

Hummer needs to be revived, right now. Everyone wants an CUV/SUV/truck, no one cares how long their loan term is, and this country is awash in fragile masculinity. A new lineup of Hummers will sell faster than GM can put the alternate body panels on their existing lineup of vehicles.

Logic need not apply when trying to make a point.
