The only appealing thing about a Miata for me is the driving experience. Paying this much for a car that will decrease drastically in value with mileage is pointless.

You can’t compare OEM engineered durability/reliability to a bunch of aftermarket crap.

People drive slow or stop all the time in neighborhoods. Calling someone, checking directions, getting the mail, etc.

The only people who slow down for speed bumps are those that care about their cars. The idiots that drive 50mph through a neighborhood are rarely part of that group.

Detroit patch potholes?  You must be new here.

Does it really matter?

Not sure I understand this question. The UAW is fairly diverse in their leadership: https://uaw.org/executive-board-2-2/

This definitely is something that needs to be addressed. A million or two being spent out of your cap due to someone else’s mistake is a big deal and could result in some personnel being cut.

SRT4 Neons had power front windows and manual rear windows.

Lotus Espirit also had the parking brake handle on the left side of the driver’s seat:

You didn’t miss anything. The only screw up here is the officer should have put the evidence on top of the car to avoid the appearance of impropriety. Considering there were no charges filed this seems like a bunch of words about a non-event.

The best small car GM ever made.

When did Horner say that?

Hamilton had more than a car’s width. Lewis overcooked it into the corner (never even touched the inside curb and straddled the curb on exit) and the contact with Max was inevitable.

What is wrong with those clamps?

People collect cars that they have a connection to. Boomers grew up with muscle cars and street rods so it’s not surprising that is what they collect.

If it was flagged in the system for repair by the dealer, I would give them a pass. I wouldn’t expect a pre-delivery inspection to catch that though unless it’s part of the checklist (very unlikely).

In fairness, the build quality of all american vehicles in the 70s was awful.
