Yep. You need BOP to make a class like GTLM work because the cars are based on their street car counterparts (even carrying over the engine). They’re just too different to apply the “build a car to the rules and go racing” mentality because it would result in huge gaps in performance.

Frontal area, coefficient of drag, etc. Just looking at the cars I would bet the GT is much more aerodynamically efficient and would be seconds a lap quicker than everyone else if everyone was limited to the same horsepower.

I’m surprised teams are even trying those methods considering the datalogging that IMSA is doing. I would have expected intake tract restrictors or screwing with the tune to lower horsepower (unless that is banned somehow?)
