Actually the system is only partially automated. The System actually “flags” videos for inspection - and a user looks through the video and approves a take down.

I think companies need to be penalized for reporting false flags. That is the only way this kind of things are less likely to happen.

In some states (like CA) doc fees are state regulated. You will pay them, or just buy private party. You can’t get around all the fees you don’t like.

Doc fee also pays to hire a courrier to take paperwork down to the DMV, stand in line for hours, and acquire your license plates. Although, I’m sure they’ll let you do that yourself...since you have extra time.

In Connecticut, that “dealer conveyance fee” is considered by the state to be a service fee and is subject to sales tax. So the dealers can set that fee at whatever price they want, but have to charge it to everyone so the state gets their cut.
