I still think people should take it upon themselves to know what to do in the event of major system failure in the car they are driving. An ignition failure such as this should not be the root cause of any collisions... Maybe a contributing factor, yes, but not the cause.

In a "so bad it's good" way? Probably not, guessing from your phrasing. Is it a cinematic masterpiece? Absolutely not. Is it one of the greatest examples of pulp sci-fi ever put to the silver screen?
