From what I read, Verhoeven initially hated and even threw away his copy of the Robocop script until it dawned on him that it could be a great satire of Reagan's America.

I think Verhoeven might be the king of putting real ideas in stupid movies. Starship Troopers is another awesome example.
An XJ this is not.
Did jeep pay attention to lifts when building the compass and Patriot? I havn't seen a lifted one IRL yet.
Um, you realize they're linked from the factory and have front and rear solid axles right? The original over-land vehicle? Step oustide of the USA and you'll probably see more capable LRs than capable Jeeps. I'm a big fan of Jeeps, and they do great things but the mindset of Jeepers that they're the only ones who can…
Please do go on.
Unload quad in back, pull truck off of berm, reload quad, go on your merry motherfucking way!
The intermittent wipers on the [Jeep?] just adds to the "meh, I don't know what your problem is" vibe of the video. And yeah, the Escape sinking into what? 4 inches of snow? is awesome. Dude, just keep your foot on the gas and keep moving.
Despite your blanket insult of the ignorant/poor (of which I have been both at various times) I have to agree with you. Capital district NY here, with an hour daily commute on a clear day. I keep blizzaks and good brakes on all 4 wheels of my 2WD golf and have never once had a problem getting to work in even the worst…
I hate it when I decide to be poor.
I know there has been a lot of empathetic conversation about how the snow is really worse in the south (more ice) and they dont have a budget for snow removal etc but what i dont understand is these people knew this storm was coming and they decided to get on the roads anyway???
My guess is that he lands in an organization in a progressive market with a team that's not risk-averse (not that Sam is a risk), e.g., Seattle or San Francisco. (And the rest of the NFL should shudder at the thought of either of those teams landing another potential monster pass rusher).
This is a great point, and it belies the tenant that capitalism is amoral (as in, morally neutral). In a purely capitalist system, the NFL would care not a whit about Michael Sam's sexual orientation, or indeed any of the non-football aspects of any player, and would instead focus on what Sam can deliver on the field,…
Most executives in the business world (the NFL being no exception) are almost exclusively old white, very capitalist men. Capitalism (and its capitalist practitioners) is indifferent to the qualitative differences of human beings; in favor of rendering all human beings through quantitative logics of valuation. This is…
