I could never take the Pokemon games seriously enough to go out and dick around with save files.

I think he did. If anything Johnson most likely helped make this closer for Hillary than it otherwise would’ve been. Trump won whether Gary Johnson existed or not.
I guess I don’t understand his platform that well, but I thought he took votes more from the Repubs than from Dems?
It’s also ridiculous to claim “Indians fans show up in redface and headresses.” Maaaaybe 1%, but that would still be like 400 people when sold out. Probably closer to 0.1%.
Completely agree. I’m also an Indians fan, and have made a concerted effort to replace all of my Wahoo apparel and accessories with items that don’t have that image. It wasn’t as easy as I would have hoped.
The Celtics logo is of a leprechaun, a mythical being associated with Ireland.
It’s also pretty rare to see people in redface and headdresses at the games. At least it has been in my experience as a lifelong (30+ year) fan who for many of those years had a season ticket package. I guess, like the tweet a commenter posted above, there are rare exceptions, but it’s not the rule. I can recall two…
Wow. That’s... wow.
It’s because the Celtics logo is generally not seen as offensive by those it is characterizing. Names like “Celtics” and “Fighting Irish” are popular among people of Irish ancestry and the popularity informs the degree of appropriateness.
Also, Boston has a large Irish-American population, whereas Native Americans…
A. Boston is a city that has a huge Irish population. The Celtics were named in 1946, decades after anti-Irish discrimination effectively ended. Cleveland has virtually zero Native population, and the nickname is in “honor” of the stereotypical savage warrior.
It’s amazing how ridiculously unaware people are to the open mockery of Native Americans. My son is a Cub Scout, and we just did a family camping trip. One of the dads, an Irish Catholic originally from New England, wore a Native American headdress the entire weekend. My wife is half Cherokee, and while generally very…
I’m an Indians fan and all for getting rid of the chief. It’s time. In their defense, they used the block C hats most of the year instead of chief wahoo, I have noticed its absence in the playoffs though. As far as people dressed as “Indians” at the game, they’re just stupid
Lifelong Tribe fan here. I wore a Chief Wahoo hat from ~1995 to a CLE-MIN game at Target Field last year. While waiting in line to get my ticket scanned, a Native American with a sign that said “MY HERITAGE IS NOT YOUR MASCOT” rolled up on me without a word, but a look that said “Dude, seriously?”
Doubt it. Her boss is going to get in trouble for these rules. She is following the rules in her cosplay. If she gets fired, that gives her case to the commission even more weight. Also, where did you hear that the scarf is in no way religious for her? What does her picture have to do with it? I know many head-scarf…
You’ll be surprised how many cubicle desk jobs have strict dress codes, it’s absurd.
“despite the unnamed company’s dress code simply stating that employee’s clothing needed to be “clean and pressed”.”
If you read the story, you’ll see that the Dress Code was changed AFTER she was told not to wear the scarf.
Didn’t read the article? The boss changed the dress code after the fact because they didn’t want pony tails or head scarves.
