What I’ve seen in my career is that a lot of very smart people aren’t aware of the fact that they aren’t smart in all things.

I don’t hate anyone for their vehicle choice. Seeing a certain car doesn’t raise my blood pressure or such. My only emotion about other drivers choice of cars is pity. I mean I really feel sorry for those people in spotless Rubicons or various sundry $70K+ Pickups.
The world your short story comes from sounds absolutely lovely! lol
Lal is safer.
There is so much about this that’s scary. Was just reading about the justifications for why all our oceans don’t simply run off the edge of our flat earth.

I don’t know anything about this other than what I just read in this article, but seems to me sneaking onboard this thing is a great way to end up a prisoner in a foreign country for an indefinite period of time. Just like trying to take drugs through a russian airport.

Sorry to tell you but I believe your wife may also be committing Bigamy as I’m married to a woman that believes exactly the same.
Hope you haven’t procreated yet...
Have we considered just learning to live with lower birth rates until the world gets back down to the less crowded four-five billion again? Apart from anything else, it’d be better for the planet and for the workforce who would be able to get paid more again.
I’m also an Old. The Star Wars blaster made me think of the realistic looking toy guns we had. I understand why they are both problematic and hazardous to kids now, but we would spend all day acting out movies and TV shows with ours.
There’s no chance that someone doesn’t try to stick their dick in that thing.
