Try laying some bacon on top of the waffle batter, then close the lid. It does better if you slightly pre cook the bacon in the microwave first. Not fully cooked. Just partly.

Not nearly as well known as the “big” parks, but I would recommend the Buffalo National River in NW Arkansas. Beautiful any time. But on nice winter days, a wonderful place to hike. And river bluffs get covered with huge ice formations that fall off in the warm afternoon sun.

You can also make overnight oatmeal in a left over peanut butter jar.

This cold water trick works good for cooked on hot cereal, like oatmeal also. Just fill the pan with cold water and let it soak for a bit.

Industries sometimes do squash good ideas. Kodak had one of the first digital cameras on the market. Sure, the image sucked. But some of the top execs said “Ah, this is a neat toy, but it is going nowhere. Film will always be here. Drop R&D on it.” That worked real good for them. Didn’t it?

My Dad was like that. He drove until he was 95. Probably should have stopped him years earlier. But he did alright. Then one day he came home (my wife and I had moved in with him by then) and said that he wasn’t going to drive anymore. Never did find out what happened, but something scared him.

Worry is like sitting in a rocking chair. You work and work at it. Spend alot of energy at it. And get nowhere.

One thing you have to think about, though. Would you be with the lovely woman you are now, if you had left 15 years earlier? Sometimes bad things happen for good reasons.
