Should've just gone over to Susan's House. Huh huh.

Disagree about the "wingwoman" sketch. For me, it tied with the "time travel" one for best of the night. It was instantly recognizable, and at the same time felt like a character that hasn't been done too much. A twist could've been neat, but it didn't need it. I would also have given the ep a B+, but Schumer has set

This knocked me for a loop. I've been listening to Yes and sort of half-weeping most of the afternoon. Just a shocking, brutal loss. Glad to see such a thorough and well-informed report on his passing on here - he was a giant of his instrument, a true one-of-a-kind musician.

Neither, his son is also named Blart.

No, no. Layman=commoner. Malaysian=bad/wrong Asian.

I wonder if that snare sound was trying to emulate the sound of a tennis racket hitting a ball.
He did make quite a racket on St. Anger, that's for sure.
Maybe it's the sound of a tennis ball tearing through one of Lars' priceless paintings.
"How many millions did that cost me, honey?"
"Fifteen, love"

I like Todd Barry, but yes, he was awful. I think I "get" his persona and style pretty well, but in that appearance, it seemed like he was going out of his way to appear unimpressed and disinterested. Totally wrong fit. If Jerry wanted someone from Louie's show, how about Stephen Wright? (Not to say he hasn't been

Great lineup, looking forward to it - Colbert, Maher and Louia-Dreyfoos in particular. Seinfeld knows - Marriage Ref aside, or perhaps because of it - not to mess about outside his comfort zone, and he's so effortlessly entertaining right there, why should he?

There are lots of similar setups in other comedy too, though. Python comes to mind. But you're right, there is a Mr. Show flavour to a lot of CBB bits; particularly the filmed segments often call to mind the "fake TV" sketches on Mr. Show, and bits like the "Kiss the pan" sketch retrospectively feel like they could've

That's a real guy too? I had a hunch about the cake guy, but come on PFT, get some real ideas!

I know what you mean. Still, she popularized the phrase "Dog my cats".

Another Mr. Show connection: "CBB After Dark" was very similar to "The Mr. Show Boys' Club" (ep 402, "Show Me Your Weenis!").

The quote was "The idea of an all-new Maron delights me, 'cause I'm sick of the old one". Other than that, I think odduck's right. Aukerman et al poking fun at Maron is probably 90% good-natured, with just a dash of genuine contempt.

I know Jesus is regarded as a prophet and is name-checked a lot in the Koran and all that. I still don't think "hand to Jesus" is a common expression among muslims. Drinking dodgy-looking liquids is, however, a staple of cheap comedy.

So, in the barbershop sketch, Pharaoh's barber makes a reference to observing Rhamadan in one story, but swears to the truthfulness of another story with the phrase "hand to Jesus". Was that a subtle reference to black people joining the Nation of Islam as a fad, or was it just bad writing?

He's a lumberjack, and he's OK.

Unnamed settlement.
