Moving the shoulder up higher is a big deal though. Otherwise, the neck takes deceleration force instead of the chest. Or, the child wears the 3 point as a 2 point and risks ejection. 

I’d bet that the majority of the readers here grew up without riding in a car seat or on a booster seat. Most of us lived.
