In fact, Jason, I have that toolkit and if you end up needing to do this, I can ship it to you, more than happy to help. Mine’s a Schwaben kit from ECS.

Also I HIGHLY doubt 6 other friends had the same list of issues. I dont even have 6 other friends with VWs here much less 6 other friends with 2010 VWs. so I humbly submit, your data is bullshit.

Please revise your time estimate for “normals”. It took me 3 hours just to get my Q5 into service position to do this job.

My point was that anecdotal experience isn’t worth much.

Wait, are you married to my wife as well!?

The baseline for “super reliable” when you’re used to german car ownership is VERY different than “super reliable” when it comes to Camry ownership (as an example).

I owned a Q5 of a similar vintage and had zero issues like yours. THerefore my anecdotal experience cancels out yours. Thats how internet “facts” work right?

Two things here Jason, they’ll make your life much easier.

Dude, it has 162ft/lbs of torque at 2500 rpms coupled to a CVT. That will be perfectly fine going up any grade you can think of. Thats the sort of thing CVTs actually excel at.

You know that the new “platforms” aren’t a set chassis right? Its a framework for placement of a few key components, but a b9 A4 isn’t sharing pretty much anything with, for instance, a 4M Q7 or a Urus or a Bentayga. Not wheelbase, not suspension layout, not electronics, not interior, not engine, not transmission.

Pretty sure, yes.

parts sharing =/= the same car. Check our facts bub.

Lolwut?

1) Given the complete lack of reports stating there are “large numbers of asymptomatics out there”, I think the burden of proof is on you to prove your claim. I just don’t see any data aside from a handful (literally single digits of cases) that have been associated with asymptomatic spread. I’m not saying its not

Where did I say emergency action wasn’t necessary? I’m saying your recommendation of “everyone freak the fuck out” is unnecessary. I’m simply disagreeing with your idea of what constitutes a reasonable response to this pandemic.

So a handful of cases out of how many tens of thousands of cases? These are essentially summarized reports, not sure we can draw any firm conclusions. I wouldn’t rule out the possibility that it can happen, its way too early to know, but a handful of cases out of tens of thousands is statistically insignificant.

Wat? They’re TOTALLY fucking different.

Please reference the fact that ZERO children under the age of 9 have died from COVID and revise your statement.

There is no evidence to support the claims of asymptomatic spread. Less than 1% of the cases in China were reported as such, and the medical community of skeptical and still investigating the validity of those claims.

You do realize that the mortality rate is very much an estimate based on current numbers and is, in no way, indicative of the ACTUAL mortality rate of the the virus, right? And that that mortality rate has been dropping steadily as we’ve gotten more widespread and accurate testing online.
