When someone tells me they don’t know what Democrats stand for, I point to the Democratic women doing things like this. Practical policy and law making are key to democracy & human rights. It’s not pretty, but this is politics in action: slow, meticulous, and directed toward a solution.

If you’re raped, you don’t need to worry about that, at least according to some Republican politicians. Apparently if you are truly raped, your natural body functions shut down and you can’t get pregnant.

I did a presentation on this for my Medical Ethics class. Also imagine being raped and going to the pharmacy for preventative contraception and the pharmacist denies it based on their beliefs.

Just imagine being violently raped and then taken to a Catholic hospital where after the rape kit is administered you’re told they can’t administer preventative contraception. Women will never be considered autonomous or adults in this society.
