That’s not too bad, some 30 years ago when I was a kid my parents had to repair a VCR 3 times because I had a habit of shoving Soundwave’s cassettes inside of it; the third time they also found a donut inside of it because I thought Laserbeak would be hungry after get stuck in there for a couple days...
That’s why I used to play as Vega... nothing like wall leaping and dashing right over a hadouken to get a guaranteed hit during their recovery, or just back flipping through all their attacks until they feel like giving it a bit more effort.
For future refence there actually a pretty easy way to check if your PSU is dead: Remove the PSU from your tower and unplug it from everything (including the power outlet) then take the 20+4 connector and jump the green wire (power on) and it’s adjacent black wire with a paper clip or some electrical wire and then…
True, but at least you can pick up Smash Bros Brawl nearly a decade after it’s release and still enjoy it without spending several hours relearning the game unlike something like Overwatch which can change completely in a matter of months.
This might come as a surprise, but all developers are bad at balancing. Look at any game after a major patch and you will see terrible balance tweaks that tend to either open up new overpowered elements or straight up break the game entirely.
Christopher Booker once said that there’s only really seven stories that can be told, and while we aren’t really talking about story telling the point is that there are really only so many truly unique ideas and then from there everything becomes derivative of something else.
That is the problem, companies should be devoting equal priority to all the platforms that they are releasing on. If you aren’t going to prioritise a platform and are going to release the game several months later on that platform you might as well not bother with it at all; by the time MHW hits the PC it will get a…
This reminds me of why it’s so disappointing that so many games never get localized because companies think there is no interest in them, meanwhile fans will spend years translating games without the necessary tools for free because there is so much demand for it.
This sort of annoys me, at the beginning of this generation both Sony and Microsoft made a huge deal about how their new systems were basically self contained PCs and that it would make cross platform development even easier and yet we still see consoles getting games anywhere between 6 months and a year before PC…
Intel K-Series CPUs run like a bonfire though... I recently picked up a 8700k and found that my old air cooler (a h212 with push pull) was sitting in the 80's underload at stock and damn near 100 at boost; I am sure I could have picked up a two or three fin air cooler and dropped the temps down much lower, but it…
Looks like a great build; but just as a word of advice I would consider picking up a couple extra fans for a “push-pull” setup on your cooler (two fans pull air from one side into the radiator while two push it out the other side) since the k-series intel cards tend to run much hotter than normal. Don’t skimp out on…
I’m assuming they were ITX boards, it’s fairly rare to see boards in the ATX range that only have a mini PCI-e slot.
The thing is, PCI-E is fully backwards compatible, with newer slot revisions being able to be used in older slots and vice versa with relatively very little loss in performance. Heck, x16 cards can actually be used in x8 without much of an issue if need be. There is actually a really great benchmark that details the…
It’s not just that people are more computer literate; computers themselves have become significantly simplified over the years. With wide-spread adoption of technologies like PCI-E, SATA, and USB you no longer see as many compatibility issues as you used to. For the most part if you buy a video card, disk drive, or…
True enough, but my point is that building a pc today isn’t what it was when I built my first pc nearly 20 years ago. It’s been significantly simplified and for the most part almost everything is ready straight out of the box; most driver issues are quickly remedied, and their update processes tend to be automatic as…
It’s considerably easier nowadays than it was years ago; these days if you pick out a CPU and a GPU the rest of your computer will be filling in the blanks with compatible parts. The CPU will decide what motherboard and cooler you use, your motherboard will decide what ram you use, then your GPU will decide what you…
Monster Hunter will always be a loot grind; but it’s better than something like Destiny because it’s not all mindless luck driven RNG.
If they put in all high level monsters that face roll you unless you are a seasoned vet you would probably react in the opposite direction and complain that the game is too hard, that monsters are overpowered and you need more time to learn how to play the game against weaker enemies before it absolutely destroys…
F*** Qurupeco... it’s been over a decade since Tri and it’s still one of my most hated monsters. (It’s awesome and incredibly useful in MHS though...)
