Perhaps as time goes on, and the tech gets better and better, "Bullshot" will be less and less necessary, not that it ever was.
From some of the announcement footage, the slope of mountains will play a part where movement is concerned. In once scene a character simply slid down a steep hill. Movement has been described as "parkour like."
...and the destruction will heal itself over time, which is good because otherwise the land would be a barren wasteland of giant craters and such.
