So nobody buying cars today ever thinks about mileage when shopping?

I don’t disagree that this is a bad idea, but at what point do you need to put the responsibility on the driver to not be an idiot

Tesla’s ability to do this is just further proof that Tesla really owns the vehicles and we’re merely paying for the privilege to drive them.

This is the same as arguing that guns shouldn't have safety devices in them and that they should have the lightest trigger pull possible. You're not supposed to point guns at people, touch the trigger unless firing or drop them so what's the problem? Dead bodies. Those would be the problem.

It was especially stupid because they originally had the games restricted to Park mode, and then removed it.

If you make it easy for people to do the wrong thing, more people will do the wrong thing. If you could magically achieve 100% accountability, it would still cost you a great deal more money, time, and dead people than it would just to not put a gun in everyone’s hands in the first place.

Tesla is once again caught totally ignoring vehicle safety regulations and is given a slap on the wrist by the NTSB.

Yeah, it’s almost like Tesla just doesn’t care...

Was surprised that this was possible.

Tesla is run by a CEO who doesn’t like cars, and would rather play video games than drive. They sell their cars to people who feel the same way.

I'd love to know what the thought process was going into adding that feature to their cars because I can't think of any realistic reason why they'd add it.

Elon is best when he’s not on Twitter trying to be the “Not Like the Other Girls” of CEO’s.

Admittedly, knowing Munro is a TSLA shareholder does remove some of the lustre of objectivity/impartiality...

Sure, he gets to sit there while Munro sucks up to him. Shameless.

Solving technical problems isn’t his forte though.

From what I’ve read, I think that people are mostly annoyed that he’s a constant douche. When you come off as a constant douche, publicly acting like a normal human being becomes a part of the story, like now.

Like so many people, celebrities and common folk alike, so many of his problems could be solved if he deleted his Twitter.

I always thought this was a title you had to earn.

This quote is pretty shocking tbh:

The organizational structure errors, they manifest themselves in the product,” he begins. “We’ve got probably the best material science team in the world at Tesla. Engineers would ask what’s the best material for this purpose...and they got like 50 different answers. And they’re all
