I am looking for a new (or used) commuter car. I want something that is cheap ($10-15k), relatively fast (0-60 under 6 sec), prefer manual transmission, prefer RWD, needs to get about 20mpg. Oh, yeah... needs to fit 5. I’ve got three kids (no more car seats, thankfully).

A this point it’s just hopping on the hate train for the sake of it. Steam can’t be the only digital storefront with a launcher that has games for multiple developers. There’s GOG but they tend to have less AAA titles/developers (besides Projekt CD RED). Sure, epics launcher is lacking but it'll get better in time.…

I’m glad you mentioned the disingenuous “consumer” thing these people keep saying because they were never going to buy this cutesy lo-fi game about collecting dancing plants on any platform. It’s just straight up lying to make yourself look like you have a stake when in reality you have none.

As for my opinion on this controversy, while I think the original blog post was douchy, I'd never even heard of the game before this exclusivity deal, so I think they obviously made the right move and don't see how people can fault them.

I don’t think valve started this, I think most of it originates on reddit, I remember the earliest big post that blew up was this one bizarre one that literally contains the phrase “epic is violating our human rights”, it got like 40k upvotes.

I’m not a fan of the practices of any of these platforms with the exception of Itch.io. Apple, Android, Steam, EA, Epic and all of them are all trying to create walled gardens where they can reduce price competition while keeping the retailer cut as high as possible.
