This had better be COTD...

I’ll never forget watching Dan’s crash. It was one of the most awful wrecks in the modern age of racing. Not only did it happen to one of the most likable people in racing, it happened right as his career was picking up again. He’d gone through a lull with Panther Racing and snagging the Indy 500 basically jump

This is actually a really cool Camaro. The interesting backstory about how to get your hands on the 1LE pack and why Chevy didn’t widely offer it is intriguing. That alone puts this car a cut above the regular IROCs. But the seller is kidding himself if he thinks this car is worth this much in 2018. He needs to wait a

Funny enough, when you’re looking at factory option cars, the odder the combo, the more valuable it is. Buyers actually do care about “one of one.” If you watch any of the classic auctions original cars with unique options packs do go for more money than the more common variants.

It’s still a hit ratings wise and it’s grown the internet fame of all of the drivers who appear on it. I was at PRI last year and there were half a dozen Street Outlaw cars there. You couldn’t get near some of them because of the crowds.

I’d disagree. 3rd gen Civics and CRXs are starting to slowly creep up in price again. Really, this car is an outlier: how many REALLY clean Civics are on the market right now? Most have been trashed or so heavily modded their values are skewed.  There are very few lightly modified and clean EF Civics out there.

I think this owner is stumbling onto a new genre of Japanese car: the 1980s restored Japanese car. Yeah the mileage is high, but if the owner has gone through this car and given it a proper restoration, the price is probably worth it. Then again, the owner is going to have to show some MAJOR documentation to prove

Is it just me or does an overly stanced car look like a dog that’s been playing in the park too long?

If this book isn’t commercially available, I will be forced to...get some ice cream and have a drink and sulk at missing out on the absolute must-have Christmas gift for 2018.

But I’m not sure they were any more dangerous than comparable contemporary sports racers.

Your feet as the crumple zones are the LEAST of your worries driving this thing. Other safety concerns that one should consider before driving a 917:

The only people who say “oval racing is easy” have never actually raced on an oval.

I agree that Alonso doesn’t improve teams. Does he tear them down? I’d say that’s arguable. His coworkers and teammates like Alonso the man. I got the chance to meet him at Indy and he is genuinely a friendly person. He really embraced the open paddock at Indy and it was nice to see him happy again. The problem is

Oh I know, but a man can dream can’t he?

I 100% agree. But with the cars so reliable and the gap between the best teams and the rest so large, then there’s basically zero chance anyone outside the best 6 seats gets on the podium, much less wins. And this is why Alonso is leaving F1. The current rules make it pretty well impossible for anyone not on a factory

In terms of wins? Yes. In terms of podiums? No. There’s always been eras where one or two cars are the only winners, but they rarely dominated the podium like Ferrari, Mercedes, and Red Bull do right now. It truly is a 2-class field. And even a decade ago, teams outside the top 3 still stood a chance of winning if

Honda/McLaren’s problems were ALWAYS McLaren related. McLaren insisted on packaging constraints that Honda could not meet. Honda spent two years fruitlessly following this design path until McLaren finally relented in 2017 and Honda redesigned their engine from the ground up. This was why Honda’s engine sucked so hard

I know there are slight difference in the block (and especially the head as most of Mitsu’s V6's were single cam while the 3000GT TT was DOHC), but there was enough similarity that the engine should mount up in the same way.  I figured the plumbing and wiring would be the biggest nightmare in a swap like that.

You know the 3000GT shares the same V6 engine block as the Montero/Pajero. In theory a twin turbo V6 swap is relatively simple...

Pretty sure The Donald himself hasn’t been involved in any part of these negotiations. That way he can either take the credit if it boosts the US economy, or he can deny everything if it all goes to shit.
