I love the styling of these trucks. Proportions are damn near perfect and they look great bone stock. It’a s shame that mechanically they are a bit of a ticking time bomb. The V8s especially are known for leaking coolant into the engine by way of the water pump. I was looking at these for a while, but decided I didn’t

I think it’s safe to say that these days if you’re buying any used performance car, you need to budget in for repairs and preventative maintenance. Never take the owner’s word that what you see is what you get. I’m doing the same thing right now: just signed the paperwork on an imported Suzuki Cappuccino and waiting

Hence the LS reference. It was easy to find and dirt cheap in junkyards and small enough to fit into most cars. It was a no-brainer for anyone looking for more power on a budget.

It’s a 90 year old design. OF COURSE it’s going to look outdated today. Bear in mind though, what looks archaic today was cutting edge in the 30s. The 4-banger base engine in the ‘32 Fords only made 50 horsepower. The V8 made 65. Doesn’t sound like a lot, but that’s a 30% increase, which is a big deal. More

The Transporter is basically the adult version of Initial-D. It’s a total fantasy that most of us won’t openly admit we have, but secretly we all think it would be cool as shit to be a tofu-delivering street racer or a mercenary driver of illicit people and goods. Does it matter that the plot, characters, story

Congratulations, you just died in the waiting room. I’m going to end this conversation now since the only way you seem to find validation is to nitpick stupid BS on the internet. Enjoy your life!

So if I shoot you in the leg, you’re in the ER, and the nurse says “Doctor, this patient was shot in the leg,” are you going to sit there and correct the nurse “Actually I was shot in my thigh, I think my tibia is broken, and the bullet nicked my femoral artery.” No, you’re going to shut up and let the doctor do his

So reading through this thread, this was the dumbest semantic argument ever. If calling it “unibody damage” makes you sleep better at night so be it. Nobody else cares.

On the driver’s side, the support just behind the radiator is bent backwards. It’s bent in the area where it attached to the inner fender. If the damage to the inner fender area (which is welded to the unibody) was hit hard enough to bend, it’s easy to see why the car was totaled out.

This thing has frame damage. You can see it in the old auction photos. CP all day long.

It’s amazing how cheap these are right now. Can easily get one in budget and have most of the modern amenities people expect in a car these days. Yeah the interior is not going to be great and there’s a lot of cheap plastic bits, but you’ll be hard pressed finding more truck for less money.

This is definitely how the Fit should look. Less awkward wagon and more hot hatch. Also, throw the Civic’s 1.5L turbo engine in it and give us a Type-R version.

Not quite SPEED but it’s a damn fine start. Who says car culture is dying?

That’s 2025. Can’t shoot your wad TOO early...

Don’t forget the twin engines. One in the front, one in the back, each with a transmission making it the “world’s only true four wheel drive dragster.” And with the special plaid key, you can put one put one transmission in drive, the other in reverse, and try to tear your own quarter-million dollar muscle car in half.

The writing was on the wall a year ago. When Bucky Lasek, Rhys Millen, and Brian Deegan (aka, nearly all of the major US RX stars) all pull out within a handful of months of each other...it’s bad news. Really you could argue the tipping point was losing Ken Block and Travis Pastrana in 2016, but the loss of all those

What’s weird is it wasn’t even necessary go to the spec cars. Ford, Honda, and Subaru all won Main races last year. I think the lack of OEM support combined with the loss of a lot of teams just killed them off. ARX coming to the US and sucking out the handful of remaining teams was the final blow, but even if that

Hope Lucas Oil Speedway lets you go to a free oval race then...

Hey now, I went to the Indy race! Me and like...5 other people...

GRC’s problems have been going on for longer than that. They came to the US with big fanfare, but have been losing teams and drivers ever since. Losing superstars like Ken Block, Rhys Millen, and Travis Pastrana (aka the guys who got RX over here in the first place) was a death blow. Then VW came in and their Beetles
