They are taking one for the team, specifically Red Bull Racing. Red Bull hasn’t been happy with Renault since 2014. Part of this is because Renault dropped the ball with the turbo engines, but also because RBR is no longer a factory team now that Renault has taken over Lotus and in this age being a pure factory team

Autoweek ran the same story today as well. So maybe there is something to it? Guess we’ll just see...

My question is, what is the off-line capability of these new services? One of the things I use Drive for the most is keeping my netbook up to date (yes I still use a netbook. It’s a cheap, disposable computer that is perfect for a lot of the car work and racing coverage I do). I can save files to my netbook’s Drive

That single source is an ex-team boss who hasn’t been a major part of the paddock in over a decade. And while that normally describe Eddie Jordan, this time the reference is Giancarlo Minardi. If the rumor is so flimsy you can’t even attach Eddie Jordan’s name to it, I’d say it’s not true.

Here’s the TLDR:

Not exactly the worst, but definitely the dumbest I’ve ever dealt with. It was totally legal to make a left here: there was a lane with a turn light and everything. GPS wanted me to make a Michigan left (I was in Maryland in case you’re wondering). I guess my GPS is dyslexic.

Subway dun goofed. If they had ignored the donut segment, nobody would have noticed. if they had decided not to renew the contract, it would have been a minor incident. Instead, Subway decided to both end it early, AND do it two months after the incident, so they get the maximum amount of negative press possible.

Subway could have handled this a lot better. Nobody outside the company would have cared if they’d just ignored it. Instead, they’re going to get a bunch of negative press. Genius marketing there Subway.

May I option my Prowler with a Tremec and Viper engine please?

Still don’t get it. Go back to Consumer Reports where you belong.

I will drink to that. I understand that OEMs prefer to stay away from hatches in sports cars because it greatly affects structural rigidity (bigger hole in the unibody after all), but with advances in manufacturing and design it seems like a poor excuse not to design that into a coupe these days.

This is Jalopnik, do you really not get it? What makes a car fun isn’t the numbers, it’s the experience. That fine mix of braking, horsepower, torque, noise, handling, and feel. It’s that intangible feeling that you can only pick out once you drive the car. For all of its reliability faults, my Mazdaspeed3 got it

The only thing that has kept me out of an 86 is the lack of hatchback. It’s the only car in the last decade they’ve made that actually “gets it.” After owning nothing but lift and hatchbacks my entire life, I can’t go without now, so the no liftback really kills it for me.

Toyota, along with a lot of buyers really, need to stop equating looks with excitement. Sure, a good looking car enhances the experience. But it does not MAKE the experience. It’s like salt. Some salt on a dish improves the flavor and enhances the dish. But a dish with a bunch of salt and nothing under it is a

This is objectively good for Stoffel. Without McLaren, he wouldn’t have an F1 ride period. It may not be an ideal situation, but considering McLaren’s recent run of rookie drivers (Kovalienen, Magnussen, Perez), the fact he got a second year is a pretty big deal. Keep in mind these guys all got dumped despite

The one upside for humanity today would be that all the idiots in the world would actually stare into the sun and go blind and we would know not to procreate with them. Darwinism at its finest.

There’s nothing wrong with having a good relationship, or even being friends with people in a supply or contracting company. The danger of that comes when you refuse to crack down on the supplier/contractor when they fail to meet expectations (budget, time, quality, etc). The purchasing team at my job maintains good

The “business relationships” is the key one. There’s a lot of crony capitalism inside state governments. State officials get cozy with a contractor or two and those contractors get all of the business. Then the states refuse to bargain for a better bid or chastise for missed deadlines because they don’t want to

“Never raced on the track”

If you want one and are near Kentucky, mine will be going for sale soon... $5000ish (haven’t settled on a price) and it’s running, driving, and registered. I’m planning to replace the brake booster and MC before I sell it, but for the right Jalop, I’ll sell it as-is.
